A SUPer Saturday.
After filling our bellies with the most deliciously nutritious pancakes, we headed out for our morning adventure. We didn't let the grey skies stop us from playing with our newest toy. We are now the proud owners of our very own Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP). I say 'we' very loosely- it’s actually the American’s, but so far he has been good at sharing!
Although the clouds covered the sky, there were small splashes of sunshine and that was enough for us. We headed out at around 9 and took turns of playing in the marina. The American is quite the show-off, dancing about on the board like he has been doing it his whole life. He will be ready for some waves soon I think. I on the other hand, am a bit like the tortoise in the old fable. Slow and steady haha. Although- I didn’t fall in this time which is an improvement! I am slowly getting the hang of it, becoming more confident and capable on the water. I’m even able to turn and paddle against the current.
To top off our already incredible morning, as the American was paddling out for a final time, some dolphins decided to make an appearance too! They were quite some distance away, but it was still awesome to see them do their tricks in the background as other boats and kayaks were going by also. We are so fortunate to live with the waves on our doorstep! Everyday, as we admire the view of the beach from our balcony, we count our blessings and thank our lucky stars that this life is ours!
