RIDING AROUND ROTTO.
Sorry for my lack of posts lately, the American's parents, aunty and cousin are here visiting us from the United States. We have been busy showing his family the Peel and Perth area. At the beginning of the week we had the opportunity to take them to Rottnest Island for the night. We had such a wonderful time swimming, snorkelling, riding and walking around the island. Like the American, his family is fit, energetic and passionate about living a healthy lifestyle. It was great to be able to spend some time altogether, doing the things we love.
My delicious lunch at the Rottnest Hotel- Quinoa, atrichoke, cherry tomato, spinach and feta salad.
The sun setting over the beatiful Thompson Bay beach.
A short sun tanning break after lots of riding, walking and swimming.
We all hired bikes so that we could bike ride around the island to find all the best beaches (and cafes). We also rented snorkelling gear so that we could swim around the rocks and reefs searching for fish and other fun things.
The American getting his baywatch on :)
Rock climbing at one of the bays on Rottnest Island. Exercise can happen anywhere at anytime...clearly!
Thanks for having us Rotto- we had the best time! (Although our butts are a little sore from the bike seats and our legs are tight from all the hills!)
Little Salmon Bay- what a place for snorkelling!
First stop on our day hike around the island...what a view!
Avocado and poached eggs on rye toast for breakfast at the Dome. Yum!
My morning workout consisted of a nice long beach walk and then a HIIT session using the stairs leading up to the lighthouse.
The Bathhurst Lighthouse.
The sunrise from my bedroom window. It certainly made me get up feeling motivated and made me really appreciate my walk.
